The goal of Gymkhana’s competitive team is to enable every gymnast to train and compete at a realistic and achievable level of personal success. We work hard to promote self-confidence and a lasting enjoyment of gymnastics that will benefit our gymnasts for the rest of their lives. Our program is designed to give each gymnast the expert training and quality practice time they need to realize their personal goals.
Gymkhana opened in 1977, and has maintained a competitive team since 1980. Gymkhana’s owners, Elliott Sanft and Ed Swerdlow, were competitive gymnasts for the University of Pittsburgh; so our competitive team is a logical extension of their lifelong affinity for the sport. The team exists in order that its founders might give back, and offer to another generation that which they have derived from gymnastics: physical and mental fitness, team camaraderie, and a sense of accomplishment and self-worth.
Our competitive gymnasts have achieved success at all levels of competition, including high individual and team placements at local meets, Regionals, and Nationals. Our most recent accomplishments can be found on our Facebook page. . . check them out! We are extremely proud of our gymnasts and what they are able to accomplish each year!
